1. Brendon McCullum – 123(58)
McCullum was one of the sensations in T20 batting in his career. Be it IPL or International T20, you can find Bazz10 in any of the stats. He also has the record of scoring a blistering century in the first-ever IPL games in history. Here in this record he also features at the top of the list with a magnificent 123 runs in just 58 balls. He made this record in T20 WC 2012 against Bangladesh at Pallakele Stadium Sri Lanka. McCullum scored the ton at a huge strike rate 212, with 11 boundaries and 7 sixes.
2. Chris Gayle – 117(57)
Chris Gayle is the next name in the list of highest individual scores in T20 World Cup history. He played a brilliant knock of 117 in 57 balls in the first season of T20 WC. We all are familiar with his six-hitting ability and call him Gaylestrom. In any T20 match, fans always feel excited by his long-hitting sixes over the ground. In his career, Gayle played in many T20 leagues like IPL, Champion’s League, Big Bash, CPL & PSL and he rocked all the tourneys. In this knock also, Gayle hit 7 boundaries and 10 sixes.
3. Alex Hales – 116*(64)
Alex Hales, the opener from the English Team, stands 3rd in the table. Once he was a terrific opener, mostly successful in the shortest format of the game. Hales scored a 64-ball century against Srilanka in the 2014 WC season. In this knock, he one-handedly made England champion in the match by chasing a big total of 189 with just losing 4 wickets. Hales smashed 6 long sixes and 11 scintillating boundaries in his innings.
4. Ahmed Shehzad – 111*(62)
Pakistani Opener Ahmed Shehzad is the 4th name in this tally. In the 2014 WC shehzad scored this brilliant knock against Bangladesh in a group league match. Pakistan batted first in this match and Shehzad’s knock helped his team to put a sufficient total of 190 on the board. In reply, Bangladesh failed to chase the target, and Pak won by 40 runs on the match.
5. Rilee Rossouw – 109(56)
The 5th one on this list is Rilee Rossouw, a dashing middle-order batter from the African lineup. He made this brilliant knock against Bangladesh in the 2022nd edition of WC. He scored 7 boundaries and 8 sixes in this knock and helped SA to put a total of 205 on the board. Rossouw played this knock with a brilliant Strike rate of 194.64.
6. Glenn Phillips – 104(64)
Kiwi batsman Glenn Phillips is the 6th name in this list, who scored a brilliant ton of 104 in the ’22 WC against Srilanka. He came into bat at 4th in this innings when the scoreline was just 8-2 and Kiwis were struggling early in the match. Phillips was the top scorer when the other Kiwi players didn’t cross a 30-run mark. He helped NZ to make a competitive total on the board and consequently win the match by a considerable margin of 65 runs.
7. Tamim Iqbal – 103*(63)
A dashing opener from Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal is the next name here. He played a superb knock of 103* in Dharamshala against Oman, in the 2016 T20 World Cup. In this knock, he hit 10 boundaries and 5 long sixes and his scoring rate was 163.49. This tremendous knock helped Bangladesh to score 180 runs on the board with just losing 2 wickets. Oman lost this match by 54 runs (DLS method) and Tamim was the Man of the match.
8. Jos Buttler – 101*(67)
The other Englishman on the list is Jos Butler, who scored a brilliant century against Sri Lanka in the 2021st T20 World Cup. Butler made this knock in 67 balls with 6 boundaries and sixes. His knock helped England to score 163 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. England won the match by 27 runs and Butler was the man of the match.
9. Suresh Raina – 101(60)
Suresh Raina is the only Indian batsman who made his name on this list. This dashing southpaw made a brilliant century in the 2010 WC against South Africa. In his knock, Raina smashed 9 boundaries and 5 sixes and played in an outstanding strike rate of 168.33. His innings helped India to score a substantial 186 runs on the board and win the match by 14 runs. Raina was adjudged man of the match in this game.
10. Chris Gayle – 100*(48)
Chris Gayle appeared second time in this list with another brilliant century on his name. He scored a 48-ball 100 against England in the 2016 World Cup. He smashed 11 monstrous sixes and 8 boundaries and a whooping strike rate of 208.33. Gayle’s innings helped WI to chase down a commendable score of 183 by just losing 4 wickets.
